Criminal defense lawyers
A criminal case moves on a calendar set by the court. What you say to anyone but your lawyer can be used later. These offices defend people charged with crimes.

Not sure what to ask?
A short guide to choosing a lawyer, written for a first call.
Common questions
Does a listing mean the firm takes every charge?
No. Read the profile for the kinds of cases the firm's site actually names, then ask the office.
Should I talk to the police first?
You can ask for a lawyer. This directory cannot tell you what to say in a particular arrest. If you are in custody, ask for counsel.
How do I check that a lawyer is allowed to practice?
Each state publishes its own attorney record. We do not copy registration numbers onto a profile unless the firm itself publishes them.
