About the work
How much of your practice is matters like mine? Have you handled this in the court or agency that has my case? What do you need from me in the first two weeks?
About the people
Who will handle the file day to day? Will I hear from you, or from someone else? What happens when you are on trial?
About money and endings
How are fees calculated, and which costs are separate? What would make you decline the case later? How do I end the relationship if I need to, and what do I owe if I do?
A lawyer who will not discuss the fee in the first conversation is telling you something. So is a lawyer who will discuss only the best possible ending.
